This program prepares
students with current computer knowledge for employment in a computerized
workplace as a software support help desk person or PC support specialist.
Students work on up-to-date equipment and software applications being used
in today's employment market.
The program offers a
broad foundation of knowledge and skills and includes software applications
and operating systems emphasizing the use of advanced software/system
features and programs; electronic communication via the Internet; web page
components; computer networking and network administration; the
interrelationships among major components of networks; hardware and software
selection and installation; integration techniques to enhance projects; and
preventive hardware maintenance.
Laboratory activities
are an integral part of this program and include the use of keyboarding
systems, computers, computer software, and peripheral equipment

PROGRAM
LENGTH: The
program takes about 8 months (900 hours) to complete.
Classes meet Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 2:00 pm. Students
may request half-day, three-hour morning or afternoon sessions.
ENTRANCE
REQUIREMENTS:
Student's competency in math, language, and reading is pre-assessed.
Required basic skills grade levels are: Reading-9; Math-9; and Language-9.

High
school students…
PROGRAM LENGTH:
Students attend morning (7:30 to 10:10 am) or afternoon (11:15 am to 2:00
pm) sessions for 1 – 2 years as juniors and/or seniors.
ENTRANCE DATES:
This is a two-year program for high school students. Seniors may enter and
complete a one-year program. Students can earn up to 4 credits per year
towards graduation.
Classes meet Monday
through Friday on a half-day basis. Students may choose to attend morning
(7:30 – 10:15 am) or afternoon (11:15 to 2:00 pm) sessions.
