Health Careers for High School Students

The need for healthcare workers continues to grow in our community and throughout the country.  Hospitals, clinics, doctor’s offices, laboratories, and other health care agencies offer secure employment with opportunities for advancement and further education.

Taking any of these programs while still in high school is an unbelievable opportunity!  First of all, there is NO tuition for high school students!  Adults pay as much as $3000 for the same training.

Second of all, you will be starting your career right out of high school or after finishing your clinicals.  This is a tremendous head start for you and can help pay for college.

Choosing a career in healthcare requires a commitment to hard work, additional hours of study, and compliance with high standards of performance.  Many of our programs are approved by community colleges and afford you the opportunity to earn college credit while you are obtaining certification in a specific healthcare field.

You will need to arrange your high school schedules so you can attend SCTI when the course you choose is offered.  Some electives require additional costs for books and supplies.

Any student who seeks admission into the program areas (Nursing Assisting, Allied Health Assisting, or Practical Nursing) will be asked to document his or her transportation arrangements.

Please be aware that ALL health programs schedule random drug testing and maintain a zero tolerance to illegal drug use.

These programs are designed just for high school students and prepare them for employment or advanced training in the healthcare field.
