Computer Systems Technology prepares students for entry into the computer electronics field in a variety of positions ranging from technical help desk to computer service and repair technician. Students learn to build, diagnose, repair, upgrade, configure, and maintain PC computer systems. Students also gain experience using diagnostic equipment common to the electronics industry.

IT Essentials I (A+ certification) preparation is incorporated into the training.  Students access the online modules, work on teams to complete the labs, and build computers. Students work with hardware and software including Windows and Linux operating systems.

Adult students…

PROGRAM LENGTH: The program takes four trimesters or about 16 months (1650 hours) to complete. Classes meet Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 2:00 pm.

ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS: Student's competency in math, language, and reading is pre-assessed. Required basic skills grade levels are: Reading-9; Math-10; and Language-9.

ENTRANCE DATES: This program is open for enrollment four times a year, beginning each Quarter. (Click here for dates.)

High school students…

PROGRAM LENGTH: Students attend morning (7:30 to 10:15 am) or afternoon (11:15 am to 2:00 pm) sessions for 1 – 2 years as juniors and/or seniors.

ENTRANCE DATES: This is a two-year program for high school students. Seniors may enter and complete a one-year program. Students can earn up to 4 credits per year towards graduation.

Classes meet Monday through Friday on a half-day basis. Students may choose to attend morning (7:30 – 10:15 am) or afternoon (11:15 to 2:00 pm) sessions.
