The age of the “service economy” has opened many
opportunities in the area of customer assistance. This 15-week, intensive
program prepares students for a variety of office positions
including customer service
representative, customer care specialist, data/order processor, call center
operator, information clerk, and receptionist.

The
content includes the development of interpersonal communications, conflict
resolution, leadership, decision making, problem solving and supervisory skills; diversity awareness; telephone techniques; and
software applications in the customer care environment.
Customer care, computer skills, and employability skills are emphasized throughout
the program.

PROGRAM LENGTH:
The program is
approximately 15 weeks or 450 hours long. Classes meet Monday through
Friday from 7:30 am to 2:00 pm. Students may
request half-day, three-hour morning or afternoon sessions.
ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Student's competency in math, language, and reading is pre-assessed.
Required basic skills grade levels are: Reading-9; Math-9; Language-9.
ENTRANCE DATES:
This program is open for
enrollment five times a year, beginning each Quarter.

High school students…
PROGRAM LENGTH:
Students attend morning (7:30 to 10:15 am) or afternoon (11:15 am to 2:00
pm) sessions for 1 year as juniors and/or seniors.
ENTRANCE DATES:
This is a one-year program for high school students. Students can earn up to 4 credits per year
towards graduation.
Classes meet Monday
through Friday on a half-day basis. Students may choose to attend morning
(7:30 – 10:15 am) or afternoon (11:15 to 2:00 pm) sessions.
