The Commercial Foods & Culinary Arts program provides training in preparing, storing and serving food; and using and maintaining commercial food preparation equipment to prepare students for employment as restaurant cooks. Laboratory activities provide practical experiences in using industry standards and sanitation procedures, and creating a variety of specialty and foreign dishes.

This program articulates with Johnson and Wales University.

Students are eligible for SkillsUSA.  (Click for more information about Skills USA)

Adult students…

PROGRAM LENGTH: The program is approximately 13 months or 1500 hours long. Classes meet Monday through Friday from 7:25 am to 1:55 pm.

ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS: Student's competency in math, language, and reading is pre-assessed. Required basic skills grade levels are: Reading-9; Math-9; & Language-9.

High school students…

PROGRAM LENGTH: Students attend morning (7:25 to 10:10 am) or afternoon (10:50 am to 1:30 pm) sessions for 1 – 2 years as juniors and/or seniors.

ENTRANCE DATES: This is a two-year program for high school students. Seniors may enter and complete a one-year program. Students can earn up to 4 credits per year towards graduation.

Classes meet Monday through Friday on a half-day basis. Students may choose to attend morning (7:25 – 10:15 am) or afternoon (10:50 to 1:30 pm) sessions.
