Imagine
yourself overseeing a ranch and its facilities, watching the birth of a
calf, or using the latest computer software and the Internet to learn the
latest techniques and trends. You
can with this hands-on program located at McIntosh Road, next to the
middle school.

program is geared towards high school students (FREE tuition!) and helps
them prepare for a variety of careers including…
Many graduates of the Animal
Science and Services program continue their education at a college or
university.
The
production of cattle, swine, and horses is emphasized. Instruction
includes agricultural history, the global importance of agriculture,
ecosystems, pest management, economical principles, animal behavior and
control, disease control, marketing, and career opportunities.
Planned
and supervised agricultural activities are provided through directed
laboratory experiences, student projects, and on-the-job training.
Students are encouraged to participate in FFA.

PROGRAM
LENGTH: Students attend
morning 7:25 to 10:10 am) or afternoon (10:50 am to 1:30 pm) sessions for
1 – 2 years as juniors and/or seniors.
ENTRANCE
DATES: This is a two-year program for high school students.
Seniors may enter and complete a one-year program. Students can
earn up to 4 credits per year towards graduation.
Classes
meet Monday through Friday on a half-day basis. Students may choose to attend morning (7:25 – 10:15 am) or
afternoon (10:50 to 1:30 pm) sessions.
