Adults With Disabilities

 

 

 

 

PROGRAM LENGTH:
The program follows the regular school calendar.

 

REQUIREMENTS:
An adult with a documented disability who is no longer enrolled in an educational program within any school system.

 

 

 

 

The SCTI Adults with Disabilities Program provides individualized education opportunities for people with disabilities. Competencies learned will help to enable students to function in the community and in the work place.

 

The course includes selected competencies from the Adult General Education curriculum for Adults with Disabilities. Instruction related to basic academics, daily living skills, food production, personal grooming, computer usage and community based instruction. Students are also eligible to join SkillsUSA. Teachers are State of Florida certified in Family and Consumer Sciences (Home Economics).

 

The Adults with Disabilities Program located on SCTI’s campus, is a program where students have the opportunity to increase their functional living skills, participate in community-based activities and explore a variety of educational pursuits. The United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) Program is now located on the campus of SCTI.

The program is also offered at various sites throughout the county. Individual centers may have eligibility requirements. The Centers served are:
