This
program is designed to prepare students for employment as a Multimedia
Production Assistant, Multimedia Jr. Designer, Multimedia Designer,
Multimedia Producer, and Multimedia Specialist.
This program offers a
broad foundation of knowledge and skills to prepare students for employment
in digital media, new media, and multimedia positions. The content includes
practical experiences in web page design, interactive presentation
development, testing and production. Specialized skills in multimedia
presentations such as video editing, audio features, and simple animation
and authoring software are used to produce a variety of interactive
multimedia presentations.
The program focuses on
broad, transferable skills and stresses understanding and demonstration of
the following rudiments of the digital media/multimedia industry:
presentation planning, elements of presentation design, storyboarding,
integration of video, graphics, animation, and audio elements into media
projects/presentations, and collaboration/teamwork.
Software used in the
course includes but is not limited to the Adobe Creative Suite (CS3) which
includes Photoshop, Illustrator and Dreamweaver. Apple iMovie is explored,
along with a brief introduction to Flash and Final Cut Pro.

Adult students…
PROGRAM LENGTH: The program takes approximately 12 months (1350
hours) to complete. Classes meet Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 2:00
pm.
ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS: Student’s competency in math, language,
and reading is pre-assessed. Required basic skills grade levels are:
Reading-10; Math-10; and Language-10.
ENTRANCE DATES: This program is open for enrollment two times a
year, beginning each semester. (Click here for dates.) Classes fill

High school students…
PROGRAM LENGTH: Students attend morning (7:30 to 10:15 am) or
afternoon (11:15 am to 2:00 pm) sessions for one year as juniors or seniors.
ENTRANCE DATES: This is a one-year program for high school
juniors or seniors. Students can earn up to 4 credits per year towards
graduation.
Classes meet Monday
through Friday on a half-day basis. Students may choose to attend morning
(7:30 – 10:15 am) or afternoon (11:15 to 2:00 pm) sessions.
