ORIENTATION
for the High School students enrolled in
Automotive Technology
will be held Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. in the SCTI Cafeteria
in Buuilding 5.
Automotive
Service Technology prepares high school and adult students for
entry-level careers in all eight areas of specialization as established by
the National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence.
"I came from Michigan to pursue my dream, a career in the
automotive field. I heard that SCTI offered one of the best programs in
the nation! I'm glad I made the move," says Cecil Day, Jr. (pictured
above).
Students begin
training in the Automotive CORE, which
stresses the scientific method of problem solving. Students may specialize
in one or more of the eight A.S.E. areas.
The Automotive Technology program is accredited by the National
Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (N.A.T.E.F), is a designated
satellite training facility for AC Delco, and offers two-year A.S. degreed
program called ATEP (Automotive Technical Education
Program).
Students are eligible to join SkillsUSA. (Click for more information about

am taking the automotive class because I wanted to challenge myself. I
wanted to push myself out of my comfort zone and excel in something I
never thought I would. It helps that I love cars."
