Physiology*
Anatomy and
Physiology is an 85-hour class presented in the Angel learning
format. The purpose of the course is to provide an introduction to
basic concepts of normal and abnormal body structure and function
using planned learning experiences online. Anatomy and Physiology
provides the foundation necessary to understand disease processes
and to stimulate critical thinking skills during clinical
performance. By understanding this correlation, the student will
develop an aura of interest which will make his/her work more
interesting and enjoyable. An introduction to medical terminology
is included. The course consists of 21 learning modules and two
summative exams |

Core
Theory*
The Health Careers Core (CORE) is a
78-hour introductory course, required by the Florida Department of
Education, for all students entering a health occupation program. CORE
consists of 11 subject areas which are consolidated into nine modules.
Each of the 11 CORE elements will introduce you to a basic concept
essential to building your knowledge base in the health care career
field. This material will be valuable when you begin your career-
specific education. There are four clinical competencies as well as a
requirement for CPR certification which you will complete when you begin
your course. Successful completion of this Health Careers CORE Course
will familiarize you with the on-line educational process and prepare
you for advancement into your Health Career Course. |

Terminology***
The purpose of this course is to provide
an introduction to the structure of medical language using planned
learning experiences online. Medical Terminology is a 30-hour class
that provides a foundation necessary to understand and interpret medical
terms encountered in the clinical setting. Efforts are directed toward
promoting knowledge of the elements of medical language, an
understanding of standard medical abbreviations, and the ability to
define medical terms.
This course is presented logically
beginning with an introduction to the basic elements of medical terms
and proceeds through the individual body systems, enabling the learner
to relate medical terms to the functioning and structure of the body,
thereby putting the terms in their proper context. |
