Technical programs

Certificates of Completion are awarded when a student completes an Occupational Completion Point (OCP) or completes a program of study. In order to receive a certificate of program completion, a student must complete program requirements and meet the minimum basic skills levels in reading, mathematics and language on the Tests of Adult Basic Education (TABE ).

 

GED

Students who successfully complete the GED examination receive a State of Florida GED diploma.

 

ESOL and VESOL (Also known as AEL & AVEL)

Students in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) and Vocational English for Speakers of Other Languages (VESOL) receive a Literacy Completion Point (OCP) Certificate of Achievement for each level they complete. After completing the final level, students receive a Certificate of Completion.

 

Sarasota Adult High School

To graduate from the Sarasota Adult High School, student must earn at least 24 credits and successfully complete all required courses, achieve a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale on the 24 credits used to meet the high school graduation requirement, and pass the appropriate state assessment (FCAT).
