If students or applicants feel they have been unfairly treated, they may appeal any policy, procedure or treatment by following these steps:
STEP 1
Discuss the issue with the teacher or counselor involved.
STEP 2
If it is not resolved, discuss the issue with an assistant director.
STEP 3
If it is not resolved to the student's or prospective student's satisfaction, file a written appeal with the SCTI Director.
STEP 4
After the Director's review of all circumstances, the student or prospective student may appeal the decision in writing to the Sarasota County Schools Director of Career and Technical Education and request a hearing before a grievance committee appointed by the School District.
STEP 5
If the grievance cannot be resolved at the local level, the SCTI accrediting agency may be contacted as follows:
